Mandela Day is a special time when people around the world come together to honour Nelson Mandela’s legacy by giving back to their communities. Mandela Day serves as a reminder that when we come together, we can create positive change and build a brighter future for all.
We dedicated #MandelaDay to giving back at Home of Hope in Cape Town and Motherly Play in Johannesburg. The Lifta team set out with a mission to make a difference, focusing on two key initiatives that embodied the essence of Mandela Day.
Supporting Vulnerable Children with Home of Hope
In partnership with Home of Hope, Lifta contributed to the care and support of vulnerable children in Cape Town. Home of Hope provides a safe haven for children who have been affected by abuse, neglect, and abandonment. By supporting their initiatives, we hope to help ensure that these children receive the love, care, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Mandela Day Cleanup and Uplift of Motherly Play Centre
Lifta also partnered with Essentially Edenvale Community Volunteers for their Mandela Day Cleanup and Uplift of Motherly Play Centre. Our Modderfontein office team was out in full force, getting involved in everything from painting, securing the palisade across the stage, installing basketball nets, and donating netball and soccer balls.
The team also tackled welded shut windows, installed handles, and attached new hooks for the kiddies’ bags. We rather suspect our team had more fun than the kids!
